At each stage of your Body Harmonics Pilates Comprehensive Track (Levels 1 through 3), you can earn a Body Harmonics diploma by successfully completing all program requirements, plus a written and practical exam.
Employers and clients alike want to know that the teachers and instructors they employ are highly competent professionals. Having the Body Harmonics name behind you demonstrates to your clients, colleagues and employer that you’re a knowledgeable, skilled and creative teacher. Plus, you get a listing on our Teacher Finder and many other benefits.
In 2016 we were selected as a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) registered school. To align with their respected third-party certification accreditation requirements, we started issuing diplomas to graduates of our Pilates Comprehensive Track programs instead of certifications as we had previously. There are no changes to the benefits you receive as one of our graduates and CEC requirements to maintain your diploma (previously certification) remain the same. Our Pilates Comprehensive Track (Levels 1-3) is designed to prepare you to sit the exam required to become a Pilates Method Alliance® Certified Pilates Teacher (PMA®-CPT).
When you successfully complete each Level of our Pilates Comprehensive Track you’re entitled and encouraged to promote yourself as a Body Harmonics® Pilates teacher as long as you maintain your diploma by completing 15 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years. When you stay current you also get to be listed on our online Teacher Finder for free and can take advantage of many other Teacher Benefits. Body Harmonics designations must be used as follows on business cards and in other marketing:
Founded in 2001, the Pilates Method Alliance is the professional association and certifying agency for Pilates teachers, conducting the only third-party certification exam in the Pilates industry. The PMA Certified Pilates Teacher credential (PMA®-CPT) was created through consultation with a wide range of Pilates experts across the field, under the direction of professional psychometricians, and it serves the Pilates community and the public by validating that a Pilates teacher meets entry level standards for safety and competency.
Yes. Body Harmonics surpasses the required criteria for recognition by the PMA as a registered school. Body Harmonics is listed on the PMA Registry of Schools.
