Pilates Mat Work Intensive - 115 hours

Mat Work Intensive is a 4-part teacher training and the first step in the BODY HARMONICS Pilates Comprehensive Program. Our Pilates Comprehensive Program includes training in Mat Work, Reformer, Cadillac, Springboard and Chair.

At each level of our teacher training, we help you become a “movement problem-solver” with an eye for optimal function and purposeful application that considers age and ability.

In Mat Work Intensive you will learn:

  • Complete Pilates Mat Work Repertoire (49 exercises)
  • Complete BODY HARMONICS Foundations Repertoire (26 exercises)
  • Unique progressive sequencing™ and cueing formula™
  • Versatile class design principles to develop mat classes for all ages and abilities
  • Core stabilization systems
  • Primary movement mechanics for spine, hip, and shoulder complex

Program requirements include:

 

• Pre-requisite: Anatomy in Motion™ (6 classroom hours) *NOTE: Mat Work Express™ includes this workshop

 

• Module 1: Mat Work Foundations (18 classroom hours)

• Module 2: Mat Work Classics and Innovations (18 classroom hours)

• Module 3: Core Integrity (12 classroom hours)

• Module 4: Practical Application (12 classroom hours)

• 35 hours of practice teaching are highly recommended

• Approximately 20 hours of home study/review

• Online written test

• In-class practical evaluation

Additional Information

Mat Work Intensive progresses from one module to the next. As a result, modules must be completed in sequential order to make your learning experience complete and meaningful. To fully benefit from the program, it is in your best interest to commit to the entire time frame. If you happen to miss an hour or more, our Teacher Training Program Coordinator will assist you with scheduling a private tutorial to make-up the missed hours. This private tutorial is an extra cost, and should be completed prior to re-joining the program.

Pilates Cadillac, Springboard and Chair Intensive - 240 hours

Cadillac, Springboard and Chair Intensive (CSC) is a 4-part teacher training and the third step in the BODY HARMONICS Pilates Comprehensive Program. Our Pilates Comprehensive Program includes training in Mat Work, Reformer, Cadillac, Springboard and Chair.

At each level of our teacher training, we help you become a “movement problem-solver” with an eye for optimal function and purposeful application that considers age and ability.

In CSC Intensive you will learn:

  • Complete Cadillac and Springboard Repertoire
  • Complete Chair Repertoire
  • Exercise modifications and variations in every plane of movement
  • Protocols to work with individual clients one-on-one
  • Versatile class design principles for the group class environment
  • Application of functional anatomy to the Cadillac, Springboard and Chair

Program requirements include:

 

• Pre-requisite: Pilates Mat Work Intensive or equivalent

 

• Module 1: CSC Foundations (18 classroom hours)

• Module 2: CSC Intermediate (18 classroom hours)

• Module 3: CSC Advanced (18 classroom hours)

• Module 4: Practical Application (12 classroom hours)

• Practice Teaching (minimum 100 hours)

If you complete your practice teaching hours at the BODY HARMONICS studios in Toronto, your clients pay a nominal fee of $20 by cash (tax included) per hour session.

If you complete your practice teaching hours elsewhere where you have access to the Cadillac, Springboard and Chair machines you are responsible to track your teaching hours including sign off by your clients. External session fees are at your own discretion.


• Self-Practice (minimum 100 hours)

Self-practice hours can be completed by practicing on the Cadillac, Springboard and Chair machines on your own or with your peers. You also have the option of taking Pilates Mat or Cadillac, Springboard or Chair classes where available. At BODY HARMONICS studios in Toronto, certified teachers and teachers-in-training are entitled to the exclusive teacher drop-in rates for Mat and Machine classes. If the Cadillac, Springboard and Chair Intensive take place at a satellite location, the class fees are at the discretion of the studio directors.

• Online Written Test (one month after Module 4)

• Practical Evaluation (three months after written test)

• Home Study/Review (approx. 50 hours)
