For Greater Wellbeing

Pilates Reformer Intensive - 260 hours

In Pilates Reformer Intensive, you learn the complete Reformer Repertoire, as well as modifications in every plane of movement. Group and one-on-one formats are addressed with an emphasis on improving form, function and integration of the whole body.

Program requirements include:

• Pre-requisite: Pilates Mat Work Intensive or equivalent

• Module 1: Reformer Foundations (21 classroom hours)

• Module 2: Reformer Intermediate (21 classroom hours)

• Module 3: Reformer Advanced 21 (classroom hours)

• Module 4: Practical Application (14 classroom hours)

• Practice Teaching (minimum 85 hours)

Practice teaching should ideally be conducted at BODY HARMONICS Studios. There's a lot of value in being around other teachers, seeing what they do, and being exposed to diverse clients in action. It will help you stay accountable, while you can always rely on advice and support if any challenges arise. You will have access to a variety of Pilates equipment. Also, having a set schedule and adhering to it is essential for hands-on practice, and our Studios are largely at your disposal for your success.

Your clients will pay a $20 facility fee (tax included) per an hour session. This is just a fraction of the cost of a regular one-on-one session on the Reformer in a professional Pilates studio! You will be responsible for collecting the fees from your clients and submitting them to the Teacher Training Program Coordinator together with related log sheets.

However, we understand that sometimes teachers-in-training are unable to commit to our Studios for practice teaching, and would rather complete their practice hours elsewhere. In that case, please contact the Teacher Training Program Coordinator for individual arrangements. You will still be responsible for having your log sheets signed off by your clients, but applicable session fees if any will be at your own discretion.

It is common to worry about the completion of practice hours. In our experience, you will be well on your way to fulfilling your hours once you have your schedule set and commence teaching. The most important thing to do is to start practicing. Most students actually end up with a surplus of hours rather than a deficit.

If it becomes difficult for you to find practice clients, please let the Teacher Training Program Coordinator know, and we will do our best to provide you with referrals.

• Self-Practice (minimum 50 hours)

Self-practice hours include your own practice on the Reformer, or attending classes at our Studios (Mat and Equipment), or a combination of both. Self-practice log sheets are the responsibility of each teacher-in-training. Please keep track of the hours you spend on self-practice.

At the beginning of your program, you will be given complimentary access to 50 classes at our Studios. You will be able to sign up for classes online or through our Front Desk staff. Please note that teachers-in-training are to attend classes on a stand-by space-available basis, and priority is always given to paid clients. In the event where the class you are registered for is sold out and there is a paid client who requests it, our Front Desk staff will kindly ask you to vacate your spot. To maximize your time at the Studio, you can always use one of the Reformer stations for self-practice or attend a class running in a different room.

IMPORTANT: In the event of an unexpected cancellation, please ensure that you let us know at least 24 hours prior to the class start time. This can be done either in our online booking system or through the Front Desk staff. Otherwise, the drop-in class rate ($22 for a Mat class and $26 for an Equipment class plus tax) will be applied to your account.

You will be granted temporary administrative access to our online booking system (for practice teaching and self-practice hours). We will instruct you on how to reserve equipment for your sessions, as well as how to register for classes.

• Approximately 48 hours of home study/review

• Written Test and Practical Evaluation (as scheduled)
