For six years, I suffered from chronic low back pain. I had to be careful how I got out of bed, how I stepped off a curb, how I sat, how I stood and how I bent down. My life was full of restrictions. I felt old. After trying many therapies over the years I had four sessions of Bowen and my pain meltedaway. That was 10 years ago. I have my life back. I was, and am, so astounded by the subtlety and profound strength of this therapy that I had to find out more. In the process, Bowen Therapy has become the deeply rewarding focus of my life’s work.

Frances is a dedicated and qualified Registered Massage Therapist living and working in Toronto. Originally from Nova Scotia, Frances came to Toronto to work in the film and television industry as a special effects artist and stop-motion animation technician. After fifteen years in the industry she decided to move into a more nurturing, health-related field. “Why massage? It’s a question I’m often asked. I was always giving neck and shoulder massages to my coworkers, especially in the animation world. When several people recommended I pursue this as an option, I began to look into it seriously. In massage, I finally have the blend of art and science I was looking for. Sculpture and painting have given me excellent palpation skills and the ability to ‘visualize’ the muscles and bone.”
